Brendan O'Leary is a professional engineer with more than six
years of site and sustainable design experience. His background is
in land development and energy efficiency. At Tagos, Brendan’s focus
is energy efficiency. He manages the building facilities engineering
aspects for new construction and existing building retrofit projects
as an implementer for Oncor’s Educational Facilities
Program. Project types within the program include roofing, HVAC,
lighting, and window tinting for a jurisdiction including over 75
independent schools districts and multiple college campuses
throughout Texas. Brendan’s primary technical role is to inspect,
verify accurate systems installation, and calculate the energy
savings associated with each new construction or retrofit
improvement project. Brendan works directly with school districts to
assess their current energy use and identify ways to reduce their
future use through equipment upgrades as well as behavioral
modifications.
Prior to joining Tagos, Brendan was involved in sustainability
focused land development projects and managed his previous
engineering firm’s first LEED certified project, obtaining
experience to win LEED certified projects totaling over $500,000 in
fees. He has experience managing a group’s financial performance,
staff workload, and office operations. Brendan has led project
streamlining efforts, improving quality control procedures across
multiple office locations for a national client, and thus reducing
construction change orders by 20%. Brendan earned a Bachelors of
Science in Civil Engineering, with Honors, from The University of
Texas at Austin. Brendan is currently enrolled in the Duke
University Cross Continent MBA Program, is LEED certified, and is a
Development and Construction Committee member with the National
Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
