Bill Martin
is a senior business leader with
extensive experience in contract logistics. He has a demonstrated
ability to develop and execute operational transitions, strategic
initiatives, and solutions to deliver value for organizations and
clients. Bill has a strong record of personnel development at the
director and site managerial levels. He is a successful leader in
profitability improvement and operational excellence within diverse
business sectors. For Tagos, Bill is responsible for warehouse
operations assessments and design. He is currently leading a large
redesign of a warehouse interior for a Fortune 100 energy company.
Prior to joining The Tagos Group, Bill was a Senior Director of
Operations in the Chemical & Industrial Sector for Exel, Inc., a
UK-based logistics service provider owned by Deutsche Post. Bill was
responsible for the operational and financial performance of
multiple clients in dedicated, in-plant and multi-client
distribution facilities. He had key account management and
operational responsibility for major clients, including ExxonMobil,
Dow Chemical, and DuPont. Client services included warehousing,
transportation, and packaging. He also had financial stewardship for
operations with P&L responsibility for revenues greater than $55
million. He led Exel’s Gulf Coast Chemical Operations with
responsibility for more than 70 management and 700 hourly
associates. Bill has extensive experience in leading start-up
operations and restructuring existing businesses. While at Exel, he
was directly responsible for the startup and operation of the Compaq
North American Distribution Center, leading a team of over 400
hourly and 45 management associates. Bill received his BS from Miami
University, Oxford, Ohio in 1983.
