Russell
Carlson
has more than 30 years of experience in logistics and supply chain
consulting with a successful record of providing “best in class”
solution design and operations management for well known and
respected manufacturing and distribution organizations such as
Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Colgate-Palmolive, and Domino’s. He has
demonstrated cross functional leadership enabling value added
operations management and logistics process design and
implementation across the transportation, physical distribution, and
materials management disciplines. Functional skills include
logistics procurement, logistics IT management, Lean/JIT process
planning, project management, staff development and training,
customer service leadership, and order fulfillment.
At Tagos, Russell is leveraging his experience to help clients
optimize materials supply capabilities though improved planning,
forecasting, and inventory control capabilities. He is developing
and implementing supplier management practices to improve delivered
performance, introducing enabling technologies that support material
control, and designing organizational structures that support the
center of excellence objectives of the client.
Prior to Tagos, Russell focused on operational management and
process improvement. Russell has enhanced system capabilities
through network, IT, and infrastructure improvements that enabled a
robust materials deployment strategy, providing right time, right
place, right product delivery and reducing inventory lead time by
25%. He returned over $43M in cost savings associated with process
improvements and RFQ results and has directed operations from more
than 40 worldwide supplier and fulfillments sites utilizing air and
ocean services with an annual direct transportation spend of ~$270M,
impacting approximately $15B in revenue. Russell served in the
United States Marine Corps, Logistics and Infantry, for 11 years
where he implemented and administered materials control procedures
for a 1200 line item, $9 million inventory, maintaining appropriate
stocking levels of hard goods, consumables, repair parts, and
specialty items. Russell received his BA from East Carolina
University.
