Beth Beloff
is a sustainability
business consultant to The Tagos Group, LLC. Beth has spent over 16
years as a thought leader in formulating the concept and practice of
sustainable development. She is president and founder of the
non-profit organization BRIDGES to Sustainability Institute, which
is a think tank dedicated to developing innovative approaches to
support the implementation of sustainability and provide educational
outreach on sustainability practices. She is an expert in
integrating sustainable development with other critical business
aspects and, in particular, in how to measure sustainability
performance. She has developed a set of approaches to support
management and technical decision making with respect to sustainable
development. These include collaboration with the Global
Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI) through Golder
Associates, Inc. on the development of the GEMI Metrics Navigator™
and development of the software, BRIDGESworks Metrics™, both
dedicated to the sustainability planning process and the development
of sustainability metrics. Prior to BRIDGES, Beth founded the
Institute for Corporate Environmental Management in the business
school at the University of Houston. She has given over 150 speeches
on corporate sustainability to university and business audiences and
has authored over 30 publications on sustainability, including
Transforming Sustainability Strategy
into Action: the Chemical Industry,
published by Wiley-InterScience in 2005, in which she is principal
author and editor. Beth has a BA degree from University of
California at Berkeley, a master of architecture degree from UCLA,
and an MBA from the University of Houston.
